Atlanta – July 18, 2012 – FlightWorks Inc., the Southeast’s largest on-demand private air charter and aircraft management company, announced that Dan Lucey, president and COO was elected to the Georgia Business Aviation Association (GBAA) Board of Directors.
The GBAA brings business aircraft operators in the state of Georgia together to recognize the value of business aviation and promote it throughout the state. The GBAA also strives to educate and advance the recognition of business aviation and its importance to Georgia and the economy.
With more than 20 years of experience in the aviation industry, Lucey oversees all aspects of business at FlightWorks, including strategic planning, operations, management and sales. Prior to joining the FlightWorks team, Lucey spent a decade with NetJets, where he garnered five type ratings and 11,000 hours of accident and incident free flight time before becoming chief pilot. He also created the aircraft management division for Flight Options, where he served as the general manager of aircraft operations. Lucey has an MBA from Franklin University and a bachelor’s degree in aviation management and flight technology from the Florida Institute of Technology. He currently serves on several boards of directors and as a Federal Aviation Administration Aviation Rulemaking Committee member.
The GBAA is committed to the education of its members. The Board of Directors produces several educational events for GBAA members and guests. The money raised at events is then awarded to individuals in the business aviation industry who are entering a career or continuing their aviation education. To date, the GBAA has awarded more than $230,000 in scholarships.
