Atlanta – October 2, 2012 – FlightWorks Inc., the Southeast’s largest on-demand private air charter and aircraft management company, donated education and learning supplies to two local organizations – Kids Read Inc. and Hayes Elementary School – as part of its social responsibility program.
Last month, FlightWorks worked with Kids Read Inc. to donate two bookshelves filled with more than 50 books that went to Atlanta-basedHEALing Community Center, a 100 percent free health clinic that provides services such as pediatrics, speech therapy and health education classes to underprivileged adults and children. Thanks to FlightWorks’ donation, children visiting the community center are able to take one of the brand new books home with them. The donation was made possible by Kids Read Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting education and childhood literacy.
FlightWorks also worked with Cobb County-based Hayes Elementary School to provide 150 backpacks to students in need. The FlightWorks team filled the backpacks with school supplies such as notepads, pens, pencils and pocket folders and gave them to school administrators to distribute. With the new supplies, Hayes Elementary students started the year off on the right foot.
"It’s important to give back to the community where we are headquartered, and we are passionate about promoting education in the state of Georgia," said Dan Lucey, president – FlightWorks, Inc. "Hayes Elementary, Kids Read Inc. and its partner, HEALing Community Center, are vital members of our community and it was gratifying to be able to support them. We look forward to future opportunities."
